With summer in the not-so-distant future, and Covid slowly becoming a memory of the past, everyone is looking forward to getting things back to normal and cutting loose with some summer fun. But it can be challenging to translate those hopes and dreams into reality. All kinds of obstacles arise, often we get bogged down, and abandon our plans. At the beginning of the summer, you feel like there is an endless amount of time to fill with fun and you’re confident you’ll complete that bucket-list by September. But I know how often we reach the end of summer and look back wondering where the time went.

Covid has made us all realize how quickly things can change. Some things have changed for good. We all know that life is not permanent, but for many, that reality is more glaring in the light that Covid has placed on life. I am sure you don’t need to be told twice that life is too short to waste hesitating.

Let me take this time and encourage you to make your summer the one YOU want. Don’t let fear, doubts, or practicality get in your way, because life is what you make it. It is in your hands, no one else’s, to go on that trip, visit that friend, or buy that thing you know you don’t need but want so badly. Count on yourself to create, plan, and execute. You’re the only one who knows what you want. You’re the only one that can make that happen. Waiting is overrated. Seize the day.
